What if I told you that the most decorated player at Reading High School football over the past 3 years was an offensive guard? He is a three-sport athlete in wrestling, football, and this last year track and field. His name is Romello Fuentes and they should put some respect on his name!

Who is Romello Fuentes?
Romello has played on the offense line for RHS Football since his freshman year. He has protected and blocked for guys like Amier Burdine, Deshawn Wilson, and Alexis Alvarado. He doesn’t really care for the publicity or notoriety. For him, it’s about winning games and playing for his brothers.
He hurt his hip during his Freshman year and I think he was more pissed off than hurt! He is the type of person that we got to wrestling practice before football practice while giving his teammates and coaches 100%. A no excuses kind of young man!
When you watch a game or the film, you will see that Romello is the most consistent and dominant force for the Red Knights. If you ask OC Coach Gaul and HC Coach Godinet, they believe that Romello Fuentes is the offensive line in Lancaster-Lebanon League section 1!
Expectations for the 2024 Season
Domination! You won’t see him coming if you are reading the newspaper, sports blogs, or X accounts. The Red Knights’s offensive line has a few 300lbs guys and Romello isn’t one of them. He is not over 6ft tall but he is the nastiest and most aggressive! He strikes with an attitude and bad intentions against every opponent.
It’s his Senior year and he is tired of losing! He has been with many of the Seniors since 7th grade Reading Youth Football. They worked out at the YMCA during COVID-19 to prepare for their Freshman year together. This season is as meaningful as it gets!
The Future
My guess is that Romello will have options to play D3 college football at the end of the season. He has some interest now from D2 wrestling programs in Pennsylvania. The next step will be evaluating his options and picking a destination that serves his career goals!
